Prince George, February 4 , 2016 – The Prince George Chamber of Commerce, along with community partners: the City of Prince George, the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), UNBC-Continuing Studies, Hell Yeah Prince George! (HYPG!), BDC and TELUS, will release the third edition of the Top 40 Under 40 magazine at a launch event this evening, thus revealing the complete list of Top 40 finalists to the public.
All 2016/2017 Top 40 Under 40 nominees and finalists have been invited to the launch event to network and celebrate along with Chamber members and community leaders. Chamber of Commerce CEO, Christie Ray states, “What makes this year’s Top 40 initiative particularly special is the incredible partners who have come on board to support the project and help us amplify these good news stories.” Following the launch, the Top 40 finalists will be individually highlighted through Chamber and community partner social media networks and online for 40 consecutive days from February 5 to March 15, 2016.
The Top 40 Under 40 publication not only promotes young professionals in Prince George, but also highlights the city’s strong business climate. Winners are chosen based on values such as professional achievements, experience, leadership, and community involvement. The publication recognizes Prince George’s rising stars, individuals from a wide range of industries who have already achieved considerable success for their age.
Since the first Top 40 magazine was published in 2013, what began as a ‘feel good’ publication has also become a community tool. Copies of the Top 40 publication continue to be used by businesses and organizations, like the Northern Health Authority and Canfor for example, in their employee recruitment efforts. Additionally, each Top 40 finalist profile will be posted on the City’s MoveUp Prince George website in the hopes of attracting new residents to the city and increasing pride for those who already call Prince George home.
Printed copies of the 2016/2017 Top 40 Under 40 magazine are available from the Prince George Chamber of Commerce office. A digital version of the publication is also available online at: http://issuu.com/princegeorgechamberofcommerce/docs/top_40_final
