Since 2015, the Chamber’s Carbon Reduction Project facilitates university students as they create customized, carbon footprint analyses for voluntary Chamber members. This project provides an amazing opportunity to connect our members with projects that benefit them in new and unique ways. Carbon Interns also create analyses plus assist businesses that want to reduce their carbon footprints. This hands-on learning opportunity educates the community on how reducing fossil fuel usage reduces operational expense.
All of this could not be done without the five-year commitment of the primary Chamber funder, CN. Other funders have made significant funding efforts too: Canada Summer Jobs, Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions, Prince George Air Improvement Roundtable, and the University of Northern British Columbia.
The 2019 volunteers are:
Norcan Consulting Ltd.
TDB Consulting Ltd.
Team Powerhouse Realty
Thrifty Friends Society
Vanway Kitchen + Bath
Workforce Development Consulting Services of Northern BC
We hope to include another eight business volunteers before 2020 and round off the number of businesses served to 50 in five years. If you know a business interested in volunteering, contact Barbara at firstname.lastname@example.org
