A Historic First: Swearing-In by LTFN

For the first time in the Chamber’s 114-year history, our newly elected Executive and Directors were officially sworn in by Chief Dolleen Logan and the Council of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation.

This moment symbolizes our deepening partnership and shared commitment to reconciliation, governance excellence, and community-building.

Bylaw Amendments

Members voted in favor of two key bylaw changes:

  1. Article 11.01 – Oath of Office
Updated to allow elected directors to take their oath before the Mayor of Prince George and/or the Chief of Lheidli T’enneh First Nation.

  2. Article 13.13 – Financial Reporting
Revised to require an annual financial review rather than a formal audit, aligning with our size and capacity while maintaining transparency.

Highlights from 2024 Reports

President’s Report — Cathy Mackay

Cathy wrapped up her final year as President by reflecting on progress in strategic planning, financial stability, and advocacy at the provincial level. She emphasized strong partnerships, especially with LTFN, and thanked members for their continued support.

“The PG Chamber’s vision — to be the trusted business pillar, fostering a culture of inclusivity, innovation and prosperity — is not just words on a page. It’s the work we do every day.”
— Cathy Mackay, Past President

Advocacy Committee

Chair Ron Camp shared the Chamber’s efforts to elevate the voice of Prince George businesses. From attending government meetings to forwarding six new policy resolutions to the BC Chamber, the team remained a vocal presence provincially and nationally.

Membership Committee

From a rise in event attendance to the upcoming launch of our first Chamber magazine, the Membership Committee focused on visibility, value, and connection. Key wins include stronger social media engagement, enhanced directory listings, and the rollout of the new Member Guide.

Executive Director’s Report — Neil Godbout

2024 was a big year for operations and outreach. Neil was formally appointed Executive Director and highlighted event successes, staff growth, and deepening regional leadership.

Key moments included:

  • Hosting the True North Forum with 170+ delegates

  • Launching new breakfast events and block parties

  • Representing PG at both the BC and Canadian Chamber AGMs

  • Strengthening our core staff team

Looking ahead, we’re gearing up for the 40th Annual Business Excellence Awards, more advocacy, and expanded member programming in 2025.
