TrueNorth 2025 - Recap

TrueNorth Business Development Forum is a key platform for young professionals in north-central BC, uniting Indigenous and non-Indigenous early-career individuals with industry leaders and employers. This collaboration is vital for shaping a sustainable and inclusive economic future.
Young people born and raised in north-central BC are able to live, learn and work in the region, rather than leaving for other parts of the province or country to receive post-secondary education and specialized training or to find jobs. This is good for our youth, as they are able to maintain their existing family and friend relationships while developing the skills they need to move into rewarding careers. Young people working in highly-skilled professions also help sustain our regional economy and the social and cultural connections central to communities, while serving as inspiring examples of achievement within their peer groups.
Developing homegrown talent provides a loyal labour pool for small and large employers, in both the private and public sectors, as well as providing the base for future innovators eager to start their own businesses. The devotion of these early-career professionals to their communities makes them promising candidates for mentorship and further growth into career leadership roles.
TrueNorth is the place to hear these exciting personal success stories and meet the education and industry leaders working together to create these opportunities.
