The Prince George Chamber of Commerce’s policy resolution on Strengthening Northern BC Transportation Corridors to Drive Major Projects was passed with 85 percent support at the 2026 Canadian Chamber of Commerce AGM on October 29.

The resolution is now a policy priority for the Canadian Chamber in its lobbying efforts to the federal government on its economic development spending priorities.

A provincial version of this resolution was passed in June at the 2026 BC Chamber AGM. That means that both our provincial and national Chambers will be advocating senior levels of government to work together to invest in transportation across north-central BC, which will not support major projects development but  add capacity and make transportation safer.

UNBC political science students Abigail Moe and Daniel Jenniss also attended the Canadian Chamber AGM, thanks to sponsorship from UNBC and the Canadian Chamber. The two students are currently working on policy research, writing and development for north-central BC Chambers to bring new policy resolutions forward to the BC and Canadian Chambers in 2027.

Prior to the Canadian Chamber AGM, Prince George Chamber Executive Director Neil Godbout received his Accredited Chamber Executive (Bronze) designation at the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Canada conference.
